XS, Inc. seems to be a start-up, who developed this server jointly with AMCC. It uses X-Gene 2. Is AMCC priming the pump? As we get to later generations of X-Gene, will we see ever more deployments into low-cost low-power OCP (open compute platform) server applications? They also specialize in disk-less (flash?) solutions. Interesting. Thanks for posting Christopher.

I have to wonder if this is the beginning of a new run up in regards to AMCC share price.
Earnings were released a couple of weeks ago. Isn't it a usual time for the share price of a company that is in growth mode, to have it's share price move up substantially after an earnings release?
Also, with the announcement that a "96-core chip will be released within the next month" was stated on January 6, 2016. This was over a month ago, so I would assume that this new item will be introduced very soon! Maybe this week at the "OpenStack" Days in Seoul South Korea. This all would help to drive or give reason to begin a run up with the share price.
Anyone with chart knowledge?
Looking at the chart below shows the first high reached in June/July of 2015, ($8.00). With the second high reached in Nov/Dec of 2015( $7.50). So, are we now in route to see a third lower high, which will be lower than the last two? I seriously hope not, because this looks like a dead end to me! After the last high is met, then where do we go? Will there be a chance for this share price to gain a new higher high? If so, how and when would this occur?
I bring all of this up because right now, the AMCC share price is much lower than what our biggest advocate, Kingdom Ridge Capital holder, Christopher Zepf is in at. I believe his average price is in the $5.50 and $6.50 range.

We should get a number in May about March regarding guidance for the following quarter (Q1'17). That number should be around a 5% uptick from Q4'16. Should that happen, I think we'll be off and running. We also have to look at what else is happening in the storage space and what competitors (AMD, CAVM, INTC, etc.) are doing. We'll have to wait and see.

phobos,
I may have only seen the same article as you, in regards to the 96-core chip. Looked throughout this entire site very thorough, but could not find anything else with 96-core chips.
How about we wait until the second investor conference to be held on March 9, before we consider the 96-core chip story, a phony. This way, there will have been plenty of time/events for the story to have taken place.
OK?

VERY interesting Chris. Well, it wouldn't be the first time that the SEC dropped the ball, would it (as we both know from brutal experience)?
Additionally, I'm not sure what the comparison would be between multiple cores, as designed by ARM, and brawny cores as designed by AMCC. It could be an invidious comparison (apples and oranges).

It was nice to see us finish up .06 in the green today,
while the Nasdaq was down 1.47% and the DOW was down 1.14%
There are TWO Seminars attended by AMCC that are taking place this week: To find out more about the two seminars, look in the Events section, located on this site.

Let's hope they can drive the adoption of X-Gene forward.
I think AMCC has a complete solution because they are one of the few companies that have both multi-core ARM processors with brawny cores and an array of networking chips to offer a turn-key solution. AMCC needs to keep pounding the drum.
